Every girl, young and old, has to face her own reflection. Twirl around. Stare it down. Ask herself: What is the mirror going to say today?
In this crazy world we live in, there is a filter for everything imaginable. We can make ourselves look younger, slimmer, taller—absolutely breathtaking—with a few taps on a screen.
Some of us can even do it in real life, using makeup and tools to enhance what God gave us and shape ourselves into something close to “perfect.” But there’s a catch. Makeup wears off. Filters fade away. And the mirror tells the real story, not the reel story.
And deeper still… when we try to change our appearance, we forget that God sees our hearts. He sees:
- every disguise
- every scar we cover
- every spot we scrub
- every flaw we try to hide
And He still whispers:
“Has anybody told you that you are beautiful?
You might agree if you could see what I see.
Everything about you is incredible.”
Let that sink deep into your soul.
He created you exactly how He wanted you. In His eyes, in His hands, you are:
- incredible
- His masterpiece
- His beloved daughter
“You should have seen Me smile the day that I made you beautiful for Me…”
Do you ever stop and think about that? That when He made you—He smiled?
He crafted:
- the dimple on your cheek
- the curve in your lip
- the exact shade of your skin
- the shape of your eyes
- the everything of your everything
Fearfully and wonderfully made. Lovingly. Intentionally.
Such love makes my heart hum these words, too:
“If it’s true that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder,
I want my life—and what’s inside—to give Him something to behold.
I want a heart that is captivating.
I want to hear my Father saying,
‘Has anybody told you that you are beautiful?’”
Scripture says it perfectly:
“You should clothe yourself with the beauty that comes from within—
the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is so precious to God.”
(1 Peter 3:4)
The beauty of the heart:
- doesn’t wear off
- doesn’t wash off
- doesn’t need filtering
- doesn’t need hiding
It shines because God intended it to shine.
That’s why it’s so important to show the real beauty He placed inside us—to show who we truly are: precious, beloved, handmade daughters created one at a time because He knew the world needed us here.
“Close your eyes
Look inside
Let Me see the you that you’ve been trying to hide
Long ago, I made you so very beautiful
So I ought to know…”
You are beautiful for Him.
Without the fluff. Without the filters. Without the world shouting in your ears. Just His voice, your Creator, speaking over you:
“You are beautiful for Me.”
